Services

We offer full wireless project provision including survey, design, installation, and troubleshooting, see below for more detail of the types of surveys and services available.

During our fourteen years of experience we have witnessed how wireless has changed drastically and matured from early deployment models.

The early days involved ‘spotty’ coverage and ‘best effort’ coverage combined with poor security.

Wireless has come of age and has now evolved to become a first choice and mission critical part of any network deployment.  Wireless now efficiently and securely carries latency sensitive traffic such as voice and video, our belief is if you get the wireless right it helps you to get the business right too.

To aid in this crucial element of any wireless project we provide the following services listed below, we will require accurate floor plans for any site survey area or building and a site survey questionnaire which confirms coverage areas, access and any special requirements.  This will need to be completed by the customer before the survey start date.

WIRELESS SURVEYS

Pre / Post  Deployment Wireless Survey:

This method involves a site visit by an Engineer and Test AP of the required deployment AP type which powered by battery and is methodically moved through the coverage areas and the RF properties are recorded at each location using the market leader wireless survey software Ekahau Site Survey Pro and Ekahau Sidekick.  This allows us to record and analyse a wide scope of RF parameters and produce RF heatmaps which visually show the RF properties such as Signal Strength, Signal to Noise (SNR) interference and much more etc.

We combine the information we gather from wireless surveys tools such Ekahau Site Survey Pro with a detailed installation report including photographs, floorplans and physical location mounting instructions for the new APs.

A post deployment wireless survey is conducted to confirm any newly installed APs and check the coverage etc matches the criteria required within the initial site survey report.

Predictive Wireless Survey:

This type of survey does not require a physical site visit and uses the predictive RF and building algorithms built within Ekahau Site Survey Pro to simulate AP types, power settings, mounting heights etc within different material building types.  Although not as accurate as a physical site survey the predictive model is extremely useful and during times when access to buildings etc is restricted removes the complexity of a site visit. Once again, a detailed report containing RF Heatmaps and all RF information will be generated.

Wireless Troubleshooting Survey:

This survey type requires an engineer to attend your site and complete a physical site test to check existing wireless installations and check RF parameters such as coverage, signal strength, SNR and interference etc.  This is especially useful to detect and resolve any RF problem areas a customer may be experiencing.
An Engineer will visit site and walk the designated RF coverage areas using Ekahau Site Survey Pro and other WLAN Test equipment and produce a detailed report containing Heat Maps and other RF details.  This information can then be analysed and corrective measures discussed with the customer.

INSTALLATION

We can also deliver a complete project cycle from initial design to project handover or individual parts if required.

Alongside our wireless skills we have also built up considerable expertise in the physical location and aesthetics of deploying wireless devices.

We have deployed wireless networks in very demanding environments such as luxury hotels where the RF devices may need to be hidden or  as a further example we have worked alongside amusement park theme departments to blend APs into the background to make a less visual impact without impeding coverage or impacting on themed areas.  We also have backgrounds in Voice and R&S networks which again allows us to fully understand the complete network and RF traffic solution requirements.

We believe getting the physical installation of the wireless network right is as important as the RF survey and design. Care must be taken to ensure the project meets LAN, WAN, PoE, H&S, aesthetic, and customer RF requirements.

The ‘Devil is in the detail’ and our experience has enhanced our knowledge of building construction materials used internally and externally regarding RF signal propagation and device mounting.  We regularly advise customers on the full range of installation requirements ranging from, structured cabling, PoE and switch-port audits, H&S, power provision, lightening protection and device fall arrest systems
